Brasenia Schreberi is a perennial, rhizomatous and ground cover aquatic plant, ideal for ponds and bodies of water. Its floating, long-petiolate peltate leaves have a bright green upper surface and an often purple lower surface, creating a fascinating chromatic contrast. It produces delicate single and hermaphroditic purple flowers. A unique feature is the protective mucilage that covers the submerged parts, with proven antibacterial and anti-algae properties. An extremely rustic plant, it also tolerates light currents.
